We’re looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and support our health and safety function at Wessex Internet.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring we remain compliant with health and safety legislation, while helping to build a proactive safety culture across the business. Working closely with teams across our construction, civils and operational functions, you’ll provide practical advice, identify and manage risks, and drive continuous improvement.

You’ll also lead and support our Health & Safety team, ensuring our safety objectives are delivered and that colleagues have the guidance, training and support they need to work safely.

What you'll be doing as a Health and Safety Manager at Wessex Internet:

• Lead the development, review and implementation of risk assessments, COSHH assessments, policies, procedures and control measures, ensuring they meet legal and industry requirements.

• Carry out regular site audits and inspections, providing practical advice and identifying opportunities to improve health and safety standards.

• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring actions are appropriately recorded, followed up and closed out.

• Deliver and oversee Toolbox Talks, safety briefings and training, making sure safety messages are engaging and relevant to our teams.

• Monitor health and safety performance through reporting, records and trend analysis, using insights to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.

• Provide leadership, guidance and support to the Health & Safety team, organising workloads and ensuring the wider business receives effective support.
  
  Please note that this role is a minimum of 3 days a week on site/in office.

What we're looking for from our next Health and Safety Manager:

• NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum, with NEBOSH Construction Certificate desirable, alongside a good understanding of HASAWA, LOLER, PUWER, CDM, WAH and COSHH.

• Experience within health and safety, construction, utilities or a similar operational environment, with the ability to identify hazards and implement appropriate controls.

• Previous experience of leading, managing or supporting a team, with the ability to provide coaching, guidance and day-to-day leadership.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, including delivering Toolbox Talks and safety training.

• A proactive, organised and collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and follow actions through to completion.

• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites using your own vehicle for business purposes.
